Season 2024/25
A club with a history
SC Preußen Münster was founded on April 30, 1906 by pupils of the Johann-Conrad-Schlaun-Gymnasium and began its journey on a parade ground on the Loddenheide. After being admitted to the West German Football Association in 1907 and its first successes in the third-highest league, the club won its first Westphalian title in 1913/14. The move to Hammer Straße in 1916 led to the inauguration of the new stadium in 1926, which is still home to the club today.
SC Preußen Münster was a founding member of the Bundesliga in 1963, but only lasted one year. After being relegated to the second and later the third-highest league, the club experienced various promotions and relegations. SC Preußen Münster finally returned to the Bundesliga 2 in 2024.
Last season
For coach Sascha Hildmann, who retained most of the squad, the 2023/2024 season was all about staying in the league. In order to achieve this goal, the budget was increased by around 20 percent to over four million euros, including through TV money and DFB Cup revenue.
Nobody expected what followed. SC Preußen Münster secured second place in the table and returned to the Bundesliga 2 after 33 years.
